Rabat – The Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam has signed a three-season contract with Belgian-Moroccan football player Rayane Bounida that will be in place until 2025.
“Ajax has reached an agreement with Rayane Bounida. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder will be released this summer from the Belgian RSC Anderlecht. He has signed a three-season contract with Ajax, from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025,” said the Dutch club on Monday, March 7.
Bounida was born on March 3, 2006, in Vilcoorde, Belguim. He is known for playing with the Belgian RSCA in their youth academy as a forward, which he joined at seven years old.
“With his dribbling technical background and inimitable style, Jean Kindermans, head of our youth academy, called him one of the most talented players our academy has produced during its rich history,” stated the RSCA club.
The RSCA has offered Bounida a contract to join their club in what they described to be a “tailor-made path.” However, the football player chose to continue his professional path abroad with Ajax Amsterdam.
“The club regrets, but respects his decision,” added RSCA, “We will say goodbye to Rayane Bounida. With regrets in our hearts, but also with our most sincere wishes for success.”
According to the RSCA, Bounida has attracted top international clubs’ interest for years.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is also a sponsored Nike athlete and shares short videos of his playing skills on Instagram for his almost 400,000 followers.
Bounida posted a video clip to his Instagram page expressing his delight and excitement to join Ajax Amsterdam.
According to DH Les Sports, Bounida will receive a first annual professional contract of 700,000 Euros with Ajax Amsterdam.
