Rabat – A fresh Israeli raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque compound has left at least 42 Palestinians injured.
The raid took place on Friday when Palestinians convened in Al Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers.
Israel claimed its forces entered the compound after “rioters,” who threw stones and used fireworks.
Israeli forces used tear gas and rubber bullets during today’s attack.
Israel also arrested three Palestinians.
Al Aqsa Mosque has been witnessing several violent Israeli attacks in the past two weeks.
Al Jazeera reported that the attacks over the past two weeks caused injuries to 300 Palestinians.
Several countries have condemned Israel’s violent attacks, including Morocco.
Earlier this month, Morocco summoned the charge d’affaires in Israel’s Liaison office in Rabat to inform him of the country’s position against the Israeli attacks.
Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement earlier this month that the North African country strongly condemned Israel’s attacks against Palestinians.
“The Kingdom of Morocco invites the United Nations and the international community to urgently intervene and put an end to these violations on the Palestinian people and their holy sites,” the ministry said.
Morocco also emphasized that such attacks strengthen feelings of contempt, hate, and extremism, killing all chances of achieving a peaceful solution in the region.
