Rabat – Morocco’s international football player Tarik Tissoudali has won the Ebony Shoe award for the 2021-22 Belgian Pro League season. The Ebony Shoe award comes to annually recognizes the best football players of African origin playing in the Belgian Pro League.
With the win, the 29-year-old football player succeeded Nigeria’s key player Ebere Paul Onuach of KRC Genk football club.
Tissoudali plays for K.A.A Gent, also known as Ghent or De Buffalo’s, a Belgian football club in the historic town of Ghent.
“Dribbling and goals were Tarik’s trademark this season: he scored 21 times in the Jupiler Pro League and turned out to be one of the strongholds of the team,” the club said. KAA Gent was satisfied to secure the award for the first time in 16 years thanks to Tissoudali.
Tissoudali is one of Morocco’s key football players on the national team.
He featured among several A-list players who participated in the Atlas LIons’ most important matches, including the World Cup qualifying playoffs.
Jurys of the award includes Belgium’s national head coach, sports journalists as well as club coaches, who together determine the performances of football players deserving the award.
