Rabat – La Marocaine Vie, a Moroccan insurance provider announced on Thursday joining force with Africa First Assist, a pan-African insurance provider, with the aim of enhancing its product offering.

The new partnership will especially benefit policyholders of La Marocaine Vie’s “Shehha” insurance policy, according to a company press release.

Originally intended as a healthcare insurance plan, the product offering of the “Sehha” policy will now be accessible around the clock for policyholders through an online portal, the statement indicates.

The online portal will allow customers to file insurance claims on short notice. The company further points out that digitizing the process will make it less time-intensive, allowing policyholders to receive their refunds at a faster rate.

By partnering with Africa First Assist, La Marocaine Vie aims to enhance access to medical assistance in the event of an accident or illness in rural and urban areas alike, the statement specifies.

La Marocaine Vie further said that its newest offering includes assistance in the event of death that covers the transport of the remains to the burial location, in addition to handling the legal procedure.

Commenting on the new partnership, Deputy Managing Director of La Marocaine Vie Faical Zahlane said that the partnership “is intended to extend to other offers from the company.”

On his part, the Deputy Managing Director of Africa First Assist Ibrahim El Kadiri, said that his company is “happy to start this partnership with La Marocaine Vie, a benchmark insurer on the Moroccan market.”

“This first step with the Sehha offer aims to provide policyholders with vital services that complement insurance guarantees. We intend to provide policyholders with all the expertise and quality of the pioneer in the assistance business in Morocco,” he added.

La Marocaine Vie is a Moroccan insurer that specializes in personal insurance. The company currently has over 170 employees and has been present in Morocco since 1978.

The company’s major shareholders are Societe Generale Maroc, a banking group, with 49%, and Societe Generale Assurances, with 51%.
