Fez – Moroccan international and FC Bayern Munich’s latest signing Noussair Mazraoui has appeared on ESPN’s list of most promising football transfers this summer.
As the football season has come to an end in Europe’s top five leagues, paving way for a heated transfer window, ESPN has revealed its list of world-class players who are set to join elite clubs across Europe.
Unsurprisingly, the Moroccan right-back was listed among Europe’s biggest signings for the 2022 transfer window, with the international sports channel placing high hopes on Mazraoui’s performance with the German giants next season.
“With his proactive style – always supporting the attack on overlaps – and quality on the ball, Mazraoui should be a good fit for the German champions,” wrote ESPN. In addition to his dazzling attacking skills and abilities to cut through the opponents’ defenses, Mazraoui “is a better defender than credited and still has margins for improvement too,” it said.
ESPN graded the transfer with a “B” for FC Bayern Munich. It also stressed that Mazraoui’s arrival would be an added asset to the Bavarian club’s defensive line, bringing much-needed balance to the right flank.

Last month, FC Bayern Munich announced the official signing of the Moroccan right-back from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer.
As his contract with Ajax was due to expire this summer, Mazraoui had been linked with a move to Europe’s biggest clubs, especially FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
But as time steadily progressed, the Bavarian club appeared to be the ultimate winners in the race to sign the 24-year-old right back.
Mazraoui’s contract with the German side is set to last for four years (2022-2026), starting from July 1, and he will receive an annual salary of Є8 million (MAD 85 million).
Upon his official announcement as a new Bayern Munich player, Mazraoui expressed his eagerness to continue to improve and deliver outstanding performances with the German squad, while appearing “hungry” to win prestigious titles.
“They [FC Bayern Munich] always play [in the] Champions League. I want to win big titles, not only the title of competition [the German league] but also the Champions League. This is a big reason why I came here,” he said in a video shared by Bayern Munich.
