The Moroccan women’s football team U17 will face off tonight against Ghana for the second leg of the World Cup playoffs at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
Scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m., the decisive game will be an opportunity for the Atlas Lionesses to ditch their 2-0 loss in the first leg and clinch a ticket to the world’s most prestigious football competition, expected to take place between October 11 and 30 in India.
A dominant, near-perfect performance is a must for Morocco’s women’s national team as they look forward to overcoming their first leg loss to seal their first-ever participation in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
To provide much-needed support to the Atlas Lionesses in this momentous game, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has granted free access to the stadium to Moroccan fans willing to watch the game.
Arguing that the team needs fans’ support to come back from their 2-0 loss in the first leg, several football watchers and enthusiasts have also urged Moroccans to come in numbers to stand behind the Atlas Lionesses in tonight’s nerve-wracking game.

On April 16, Atlas Lionesses made a historic, landslide victory against Niger with an 11-0 win, qualifying for the fourth and final round of the African qualifiers.
If qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup, the Moroccan women’s football team will seal one of the three spots granted to Africa.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia will face Nigeria, and Cameroon will take on Tanzania in order to compete for the remaining seats.
The upcoming edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will see 16 teams compete to win the prestigious title.
