Rabat – A Kenyan delegation visited Tangier recently to explore potential business opportunities of the region and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region indicated in a press release that it received a Kenyan delegation, including CEO of Kenya Private Sector Alliance Carole Karuiki and Kenya’s honorary consul in Morocco Ali Bajaber.

The meeting was attended by President of Morocco’s Association of Textile and Clothing Industry – North Zone Yassine El Aroud alongside President of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Morocco in the north region Chaibia Balbzioui Alaoui, and representative of Morocco’s Instance of Business Azzedine Tiqa.

During the meeting, the regional Investment Center showcased a presentation on the business climate and investment infrastructure in the region.

The Regional Council of Tourism also led a presentation on the tourism assets and investment potential in the tourism sector of the region.

Kenya and Morocco highlighted the need to strengthen economic relations between African countries in general, and between Morocco and Kenya in particular, especially in the domains of construction, food industries, and textiles

In September, during a meeting with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto expressed his willingness to strengthen relations with Morocco.

Ruto emphasized on reinforcing the cooperation with Morocco to respond to the pressing issues facing the East African country, namely food security. In September, Kenya turned to Morocco to secure low-cost fertilizers to boost its agriculture.
