Join on Telegram Rabat – Following his latest defeat on Saturday, Badr Hari told his fans that he is considering retiring, and bid them farewell in case he never saw them again.
After his game with Dutch kickboxer Alistair Overeem that ended with defeat, Hari immediately said that he is “going to put a stop to it,” adding that he is “considering a farewell,” according to a news report from Dutch news agency ANP.
“If I don’t see you again. Thank you very much for everything,” Hari told his fans after the match in the Gelredome in Arnhem.
Hari displayed impressive performance during the first and second rounds, with experts noting that he combined techniques from different martial arts.
However, during the second round, his Dutch adversary delivered a hard blow to his chin that turned the odds against him. In the following and last round, Hari dropped to the ground twice.
With more than 10 years fighting as a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) kickboxer, Hari’s latest win dates back to 2015 when he won against Surinamese-Dutch kickboxer Ismael Londt.
In 2018, the Moroccan-Dutch athlete almost won against Dutch kickboxer Hesdy Gerges, but his victory was short-lived as he was stripped of the title after testing positive in a drug test.
