Rabat – Belgian key footballer Kevin de Bruyne is calling on his teammates to show bravery during their football match against Morocco on Sunday.

The two football teams will play each other as part of the World Cup group stage on Sunday, November 27 at 14:00 Moroccan time.

“We can show more bravery, be better on the ball, and overall improve our performance,” De Bruyne told reporters.

Acknowledging the difficulty of the match against Morocco, De Bruyne sees himself doing better than his performance with Canada on Wednesday.

Belgium scored one goal against Canada on Wednesday, with the North American team showing resilience and giving Belgium a serious challenge.

“I was on the level that the team was playing at, I was below average, I expect myself to be way better than that. That’s what I’m going to try and do in the next game,” he said.

De Bruyne also commented on the potential participation of Romelu Lukaku, who was injured weeks prior to the World Cup on October 31 during a match with his club Inter Milan.

The football player emphasized that Romelu’s potential return and participation in the match against Morocco will “not change the way we play, but of course he is a top striker… Romelu has not played for a long time now, but even if he can only have a few minutes, defensively they will be more scared.”

“He gives us a lot more options. His return will be a boost,” De Bruyne added.

Belgium’s head coach Roberto Martinez said earlier this week that Lukaku might be ready to play against Morocco on Sunday.

Lukaku and De Bruyne’s participation in the match against Morocco will mark a real and challenging test for the national team, which has reported injuries among key players.

The medical team of the Moroccan national team said both Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui are suffering from injuries.
While Hakimi’s participation is still uncertain, with the medical staff saying his injury is not a cause for concern, it has been reported that Mazraoui will not be able to play against Belgium.
