Rabat – Today’s game between Uruguay and South Korea’s World Cup game ended with a 0-0 deadlock at the Education City Stadium, in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
Both teams failed to score during the match, which was part of Matchday 5 of the global tournament’s group stage.
Possession was evenly split between the two teams during the first half of the match. But Uruguay’s La Celeste out-possessed the South Korean squad during the second half, proving to be a tough rival in Group H.
However, Uruguay’s attempts to press higher and control possession of the ball were met with strong and disciplined defense from the Korean side.
Uruguay has qualified for the World Cup a total of 14 times, and won the title twice, in 1930 and 1950. Meanwhile, South Korea qualified for the global tournament on 11 occasions. The 2002 World Cup marked South Korea’s best performance as they claimed fourth place.

The World Cup draw placed Uruguay and South Korea in Group H, alongside Portugal and Ghana. The latters will face off today at 17:00 Moroccan time, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s squad being the favorite to win.
The global tournament has so far been full of surprises, putting several football giants under immense pressure. Saudi Arabia claimed a historical 2-1 win against Argentina on Tuesday, stunning the Latin squad’s supporters.
In addition, Japan stunned Germany on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory, though the European team was the pre-match favorite to win the clash.
