Rabat – As Morocco’s football team leaves the FIFA World Cup, Morocco’s star player Achraf Hakimi said in an Instagram post that he “thanks Qatar and FIFA for the wonderful reception and organization.”
Hakimi further extended his message to Moroccan people expressing gratitude for their “unconditional support.”
In an Instagram story on Sunday, the football player shared his feelings on their World Cup participation this year saying that it has been a “beautiful month in this country.”
Morocco’s national football team is set to arrive in Morocco on Monday from Doha.
The team finished in fourth place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring the best record yet for any African or Arab country.
With outstanding performance and under the mentorship of Coach Walid Regragui, the Atlas Lions this year took down world-class teams and established a name for themselves as a worthy opponent.
The team finished on top of Group F before qualifying for the round of 16 where they knocked out Spain and moved to the quarter-finals of the tournament to face Portugal and score a historic 1-0 win.
With their stellar performance this year, many observers note that this is just the beginning for the team, as they have carved the way for future World Cup wins.
