Rabat – Inspired by the charm of Moroccan customs, Chinese-American fashion designer Sue Wong transformed a 10,300-square-foot McMansion, that she had bought for $4.2 million, into a lavish Moroccan-inspired mansion in Los Angeles, investing $3 million in the process.

The designer toured Morocco last summer, leaving no stone unturned, Wong passed on her ideas to a graphic artist and made purchase orders for furniture and architectural elements which she sent to 36 Moroccan artisans to come up with a Moroccan-style “handcrafted custom house.”

The real estate company Douglas Elliman described the property as a ‘masterpiece.’ The agents in charge of the listing Ernie Carswell,  with Kendra Wilkinson and Spencer Daley, told The Post: “We have a media room that masquerades as a library, we have a grand dining room that overlooks the pool terrace, a true grand living room, an entertaining lounge with a central bar that is the size of the living room, like a nightclub.”

The agents added there are “breakout rooms like you find in Moroccan hotels — they’re kind of alcoves, with arches.”

Other aspects and features the ‘opulent’ mansion boasts are bronze doors galore with the ornate style, a black obsidian pool, a dressing room, a lounge, a covered terrace, an arbor, and a grilling area.

Netizens on Instagram left comments on Wong’s post concerning a party she held in the “Los Feliz” home. One participant in the party commented, “We all had an amazing time at @suewongfashion incredible party at the Palazzo Marrakesh in Los Feliz!”

The home is one of the four that Wong owns in Los Angeles.
