President of the Confederation of Football Federation (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, arrived in Morocco to attend the final match between Real Madrid and Al-Hilal, which will take place on Saturday.
“Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF was welcomed today in Rabat by Tarek Najem, General Secretary of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to attend the FIFA Club World Cup 2022 Final tomorrow,” the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced earlier today.
The game will take place tomorrow at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat at 8 p.m. Moroccan time.
Several online previews on the game predict Real Madrid to be the favorite to win tomorrow’s final.
However, Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelloti said in a press conference prior to the match that his team is not “underestimating” Al Hilal.
“We’re up against a team that won the semi-final by playing well and deserved to be in the final. We have to respect this team. They’ve got good players and play well collectively. They’ll be excited to play in the final and so will we,” Ancelotti said.
On February 7, Al Hilal defeated Brazil’s Flamengo 3-2 to become the first team from Saudi Arabia to reach the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Hilal scored three goals against the Brazilian champions during the semi-final match, producing the tournament’s upset as the Brazilian team was the second favorite behind Real Madrid.
Saturday’s fixture will also feature the third place game between Al Ahly and Flamengo. The game will take place at 16:30 local time in Tangier’s Ibn Battuta stadium.
The match was initially scheduled to take place in Rabat.
