11 Hotels in Morocco Nominated for World Travel Awards 2023

Moroccan-based hotels have once again made their mark in the travel and tourism industry, with 11 hotel establishments gaining nominations in the 30th Annual World Travel Awards (WTA) 2023.

Rabat – Moroccan-based hotels have once again made their mark in the travel and tourism industry, with 11 hotel establishments gaining nominations in the 30th Annual World Travel Awards (WTA) 2023.

Casablanca’s Four Seasons Hotel and Marrakech’s Royal Mansour are both nominated for Africa’s Leading Hotel 2023.

Meanwhile, two hospitality establishments including Casablanca’s Marriott hotel and Hyatt Regency are nominated for Africa’s Leading City Hotel 2023.

For Africa’s Leading Design Hotel, both Fairmont La Marina Rabat Sale hotel And residences and Marrakech’s Les Deux Tours hotel have been nominated.

Fairmont La Marina Rabat Sale hotel and residences was also featured in the list of Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel which also includes Marrakech’s La Mamounia hotel.

Moroccan-based hotels are also dominating WTA’s list of Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotels with two hotels including Fez’s Hotel Sahrai and Marrakech’s La Sultana on the list.

In addition, Marrakech’s Movenpick Mansour Eddahbi is nominated for Africa’s Leading Conference Hotel award.

Moroccan-based hotels dominate the nominee list for Africa’s Leading New Hotel Award, which includes Fairmont La Marina Rabat Sale, Fairmont Taghazout Bay, Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier, Nobu Hotel Marrakech, and Rabat Marriott Hotel.

In addition to hotels, some resorts in Morocco are also listed in this year’s travel awards. Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort and Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay are nominated for Africa’s Leading Beach Resort.

Nominees this year cover a broad spectrum of categories including tourist attractions. One example is Morocco’s Dakhla, which was nominated as Africa’s Leading Beach Destination.

Meanwhile, Marrakech was nominated for both Africa’s Leading City Destination and Africa’s Leading Festival & Event Destination.  

WTA decision to feature Marrakech comes as yet another confirmation of Morocco’s status as one of the world’s top destinations for tourism. Cities like Fez, Essaouira, Marrakech, Tangier, and Casablanca have continued to attract millions of visitors over the years.

Earlier this year, leading travel platform Tripadvisor ranked Marrakech eighth-best city for tourists in 2023.

Industry professionals, the media, and consumers worldwide can vote for their favorite travel brands until 30 April in Africa.

According to WTA, the nominee gaining the most votes in a category will be named the winner in the landmark 30th anniversary year.

WTA’s Founder Graham Cooke said: “With voting now open for our key regions of Africa, Asia, Indian Ocean and Oceania, momentum for our landmark 30th anniversary is now building. It is time for you to choose the organizations that are raising the bar of travel excellence.”
