Royal Air Maroc announced more flight cancellations to and from France due to the ongoing public service strike in the European country.
Due to the strike, the company said it was “forced to proceed” with the cancellations of some flights that were scheduled on March 15 to and from France.
Royal Air Maroc was informed to consult their flight status, stressing that people who do not wish to travel on rescheduled flights can receive reimbursement for their tickets or change their flight date depending on availability.
The change of flight date is free to and from the same destination or any air route within Royal Air Maroc’s Europe network.
Flights to and from France have been heavily affected by ongoing strikes led by frustrated workers, including Air Traffic Controllers.
The strikes came as a protest to Macron’s government’s decision to increase the retirement age from 62 to 64.
The pension reforms fueled anger and backlash nationwide from labor unions, who are protesting the measure.
The Guardian quoted an opinion poll that suggested that up to 70% of French people are against the pension reforms.
Commenting on the protests, Transport Minister Clement Beaune said: “We won’t have the same level of disturbances of public transport as during previous protest days.”
