Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced canceling more flights to and from Paris on Thursday.

The decision is due to an ongoing strike by France’s Air Traffic Controllers, who are protesting against the French government’s plans of pension reforms.

“Following the public services strike notice in France on March 9th , 2023, relayed by the unions of French DGAC, all airlines were asked to reduce their flight number on both days; accordingly, Royal Air Maroc cancelled flights AT770, AT771, AT740, AT749, AT777 and AT776 of March 9th , 2023,” Royal Air Maroc said.

The airline called on its customers to rebook their flight through its website.

Passengers who do not wish to travel can receive a refund for their ticket or can change the date of travel to and from the same destination or another destination of Royal Air Maroc’s network in France. The change will be free of charge, the company said.

“It should be noted that for any change of destination, the possible difference in taxes must be borned by the passenger,” the airline added.

This comes after Royal Air Maroc initially canceled flights scheduled to and from Paris on March 7-8.

Thousands of French citizens have been rallying in the past few months against a government pension reform proposal, which seeks to push up the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64.

According to France’s France’s aviation authority, DGAC, the general strike might continue through at least March 11.

DGAC called on carriers to reduce flight schedules by 20 % at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and by 30 % at several other airports, including Paris Orly.
