Rabat – The Ras al-Maa local prison administration in the city of Fez has reported a suicide incident that a terror convict committed today in his cell.
The terror convict killed himself by hanging himself from a piece of cloth that he attached to his cell’s window.
Authorities at the prison immediately informed the public prosecution office as well as the detainee’s family following the incident, in accordance with the legal procedures, the prison directorate concluded.
The incident took place less than 24 hours after a similar suicide incident in a local prison in Oujda, a city in Morocco’s Oriental region.
The other terrorist convict, who committed suicide on Tuesday, was part of a terrorist cell named Chamharouch.
The cell was involved in the heinous murder of two Scandinavian tourists in Imlil near Mount Toubkal in December 2018.
Back in January 2022, another terror convict also committed suicide in his cell in the city of Meknes, using a piece of cloth to hang himself. The detained terrorist suffered from mental and psychological disorders.
