Rabat – Moroccan international Souffian El Karouani has signed with Dutch professional football club Utrecht on a free transfer after failing to reach an agreement with NEC Nijmegen for contract renewal.
Dutch media reported that the Moroccan left-back signed a three-year contract with FC Utrecht.

“Souffian is a fierce player with tremendous drive, a real winner,” FC Utrecht Technical Director Jordy Zuidam said. “Although he is still young, he has already gained a lot of experience and played games at the highest level. With us, he can continue his development.”
Zuidam continued, “We are happy that we can add Souffian to our team for the next season.”
The Utrecht technical director also lauded the 22 year old football player’s technical skills as well as his great running ability.
El Karouani joined NEC Nijmegen on July 19, 2019, and has played 110 official matches for the club to date, with his contract set to expire on June 30.

The Moroccan footballer’s value is currently estimated at €1.40 million, according to the transfer market.
