Ramadan is Islam’s holy month, it is a time when the worldwide Muslim population fasts from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan’s core values revolve around showing devotion to god, kindness, and giving to people in need.

When thinking about fashion during Ramadan, abayas, jellabas, and caftans are among the most popular outfits. However many people find these outfits unpractical  for the everyday journey to work or university.

For this year’s Ramadan, MWN gathered a list of modest yet fashionable closet staples to add spice and fun to your everyday wardrobe.

Maxi skirts

Maxi skirts have been the fashion item to have for the past few months. British Vogue even published a whole article titled: “It’s the year of the maxi skirt.”

The long flowing skirts have been everywhere, featuring on the runways of major haute couture brands like Gucci, Maison Margiela, and Azzedine Alaia.

As well as worn by your favorite celebrities, top influencers, and style experts.
Fortunately, this trendy style is a Ramadan-friendly option. Featuring a baggy and flowy look, they are a great fashion statement in your outfit.

Easy to style, you can pair them with a simple top or a cropped sweater for a casual look.

Long cardigans

Cardigans are not a new item yet they are making a comeback for an easy go-to look. In a variety of styles, simple or textured, they are a knitwear staple that never fails to add a touch of coziness to your casual outfits.

Perfect for those early spring days when it is still chilly in the morning and gradually gets warm during the day makes the cardigan the perfect option, as you can easily dress them up according to the temperature.

Scandinavian influencers have truly mastered the art of layering and styling cardigans. You can dress it over a simple top and jeans outfit or over a dress.

Oversized blazers

Oversized blazers have been a statement piece for the past few years. Worn traditionally as a corporate uniform, blazers are now more of a casual piece that elevates basic outfits.

Promoting a gender-fluid fashion scene, blazers are a great staple to have in your wardrobe. They can easily be styled which is ideal for Ramadan and the hectic morning journey to work.

You can wear it over simple denim outfits or with tailored pants, sneakers, or heels. These on-trend blazers are very flexible and modest wardrobe pieces.

Wide-leg trousers

We can all relate that on some days you don’t feel like wearing harsh and solid pieces of fabric and just want a flowing wide-leg piece. Trousers are the perfect pick for that, with an oversized effect, they represent a modest outfit option when they are paired with long sweaters or simple casual tops.

Perfect for spring weather, you can also wear them with blazers for a more corporate look on your busy work days.

All these staples can see you through Ramadan, helping you to feel comfy yet stylish during the busy Ramadan period.
