Rabat – Real Betis has been watching Wydad Casablanca’s player Yahya Attiyat Allah since March for a potential transfer this summer, Moroccan media Soccer212 has reported.
“We can confirm that, since March, Betis Seville has been watching Attiat Allah very closely,” Soccer212 tweeted on Thursday. “The recruitment process of the Spanish club could link to the services of the Moroccan defender this summer.”
According to converging reports in the Spanish and Moroccan media, the player can leave on a free transfer, as his contract with WAC expires at the end of the season.
Attiat Allah reportedly received last season an offer of 1.5 billion from the Saudi league. However, the player decided to finish the season with Wydad.
Other names linked to a potential transfer to Real Betis include Sporting CP’s right back Hector Bellerin, Leeds United’s central midfielder Marc Roca, and Basaksehir’s central defender Ahmed Touba.
Attiat Allah was close to joining the French club Montpellier in last winter transfer window, with the club showing interest in the Moroccan player following his stellar performances during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
However, the process fell through due to Wydad‘s desire to keep the defender for the FIFA Club World Cup, which took place in February between 1-11.
