Rabat – As part of the 2023 Women’s World Cup set to take place in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20, the Moroccan national football team will lock horns with their South Korean counterparts on July 30.
This second group stage game for the Atlas Lionesses will take place at Hindmarsh Stadium in Australia at 5:30 a.m. Moroccan Time, and the broadcasting channel will be FOX US and the FOX Sports App.
This world cup participation is the Moroccan team’s first in its history, with the Lionesses’ qualification coming thanks to their victory against Botswana (2-1) in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
As preparation for this global tournament, the Moroccan team took on seven international teams in friendly matches, which ended with 2 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws.
On the other hand, South Korea marked their fourth participation in this year’s edition of the Women’s World Cup: 2003, 2015, and 2019.
In 2003, the South Korean team was disqualified from the group stage matches. In 2015, they managed to reach the round of 16 where they lost 3-0 to France, while in 2019, their journey ended in the group stage matches.

They have had some rugged recent draws with Italy and Switzerland that will build confidence when it comes to holding on for a result.”
