Rabat – The Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui is reportedly among the players the German club Bayern Munich would like to part ways with.
Mazraoui is no longer on good terms with Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, who is about to make a significant managerial change in preparation for the start of the upcoming season.
According to the German daily Bild, quoted by the Sport.fr website, “Bayern Munich have drawn up a list that includes a number of high-profile individuals. It includes Sadio Mane, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Marcel Sabitzer, Ryan Gravenberch, Benjamin Pavard, Noussair Mazraoui, and Bouna Sarr.”
On July 15, Tuchel said in a press conference: “We have a lot of right-backs. Pavard also plays very well at center-back. Mazraoui is a very good right-back who sometimes gives his opinion, but that’s fine.”
Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui is continuing his preseason training with the Bavarian club, who defeated FC Rottach-Egern 27-0 in a friendly match yesterday.
Reports come as Mazraoui has long signaled his desire to leave Bayern in search of more regular playing time.
Back in April, the Moroccan lashed out in an interview, expressing his frustration at not being on Bayern’s match squad. “I was a regular before the World Cup. Now I’m fit and I’m not getting any playing time. I’m not even a second or third choice,” he said.
When asked about Mazraoui’s comments, Tuchel, who did not appreciate the Moroccan player’s underlying message, curtly responded: “I don’t read interviews. I don’t know anything. I also want him to play more.”
He added, “Everyone gets maximum support from us and then everyone is challenged. If you only get five minutes, you have to deliver in five minutes.”
On June 4, a tweet from @iMiaSanMia stated that Mazraoui, who did not feel welcomed anymore in Bayern after being benched by Tuchel, was still considering leaving the German club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
