Rabat – In celebration of the 24th Throne Day anniversary, Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced on Tuesday an exceptional promotion list for more than 10,000 of its employees.
The list includes police officers who meet the required criteria outlined in the fundamental regulations for national security personnel.
According to the DGSN, the move aims to “reinforce administrative incentives, improve the social conditions of its workforce, and create an integrated professional environment that enables them to efficiently fulfill their duties of safeguarding citizens’ security and protecting their properties.”
A total of 10,330 police officers from various ranks and divisions benefited from this exceptional promotion, representing an unprecedented 81% of employees who met the promotion criteria and were included in the list of eligible candidates.
The exceptional promotions encompassed all security ranks, with special consideration given to employees holding lower and middle ranks.
Priority was given to those with seniority, integrity, and dedication in performing their professional duties, along with careful attention to those approaching retirement age, added the statement.
Out of the beneficiaries, 8,394 are uniformed police officers, including different specialized groups and security formations operating in public safety, while 1,936 are civilian officers.
The move reflects the DGSN’s commitment to motivating its police force for their dedication and hard work, as well as helping them effectively perform their duties of upholding law and order, and protecting citizens, concluded the statement.
Morocco commemorated on Sunday, July 30 the 24th anniversary of Throne Day, an annual holiday that celebrates King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne in 1999.
