Marrakech – Huawei, a global leader in information and communications technology, participated in the World P-t-X Summit, the world’s largest gathering dedicated to green hydrogen and clean molecules.

Organized jointly by Morocco’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, IRESEN, Cluster Green H2, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, this event is taking place from September 19 to 21, 2023, in Marrakech.

Jad ZHAO, General Manager of Huawei Digital Power Mediterranean Countries, applauded this significant initiative.

“Huawei is committed to actively contributing to the transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future. Through our participation in the World P-t-X Summit, Huawei aims to position itself as a catalyst for global ecological sustainability,” he said.”

“By merging cutting-edge digital and electronic technologies, promoting clean energy sources, and advocating for energy digitalization, the company aspires to drive an energy transformation for a greener and healthier world. This vision is the result of a strong partnership based on trust and collaboration with our various partners within the information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem.”

Huawei is participating in the World PtX Summit under the banner “Smart PV for a Greener Future.” According to Zhao, the primary goal of Huawei’s involvement in the World P-t-X Summit is to promote Huawei FusionSolar in the renewable energy industry in Morocco, showcase the latest FusionSolar technologies in various scenarios, and facilitate networking opportunities for the solar industry.

During the summit, Huawei emphasizes ingenious FusionSolar PV+ESS solutions tailored for industrial, commercial, residential environments, and large-scale energy projects. These offerings enable users to benefit from more competitive electricity and storage costs (LCOE and LCOS) while harnessing advanced technologies for network stability and active security.

As a result, these solutions contribute to reducing the long-term LCOE of photovoltaic plants and optimizing their grid integration, positioning solar power as a central and reliable energy source.

IRESEN – Huawei Commit to Green Energy Development in Morocco

In conjunction with this major event, Huawei Morocco has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRESEN. The initiative underscores the shared commitment of partners to boost green energy development in Morocco, particularly in the photovoltaic sector, to support Morocco’s sustainable development strategy.

“Huawei Morocco and its partners are resolutely committed to a brighter, greener, and more prosperous future for Morocco. The realization of their partnership reflects their determination to actively contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s ambitious goals in energy transition,” Jad Zhao stated.

The World PtX Summit aims to highlight advancements and innovative solutions in the field of carbon-free hydrogen and clean molecules. As such, the event is expected to provide an opportunity to explore project expansion possibilities along the Power-to-X value chain while fostering discussions on aligning roadmaps between neighboring countries and adjacent regions.

Among the key themes addressed during this significant gathering are public policies and regulations, markets and supply chains, investments and financing, as well as innovation and technologies in the areas of renewable energy hybridization, hydrogen production, transport and storage, green chemistry, and hydrogen mobility.

Huawei’s participation in the World P-t-X Summit underscores its dedication to driving sustainable energy solutions and fostering partnerships for a greener future.

As the world grapples with the imperative of transitioning to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources, Huawei is providing a platform for collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing that can propel us toward a more eco-conscious world.
