Rabat – The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Ben Guerir is organizing “The Voice of Africa” event from October 10 to 14 on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings, which began today in Marrakech.
On October 9, a day before the kick-off of the event, the university organized an opening ceremony with the presence of UM6P’s Director of Institutional Relations Khalid Baddou, who spoke on the overall nature of the event during the discussion portion of the ceremony.
Baddou’s introductory speech focused on UM6P’s history, its evolution, its various facilities, and its expansion plan across Moroccan cities.

“The Voice of Africa” is a series of conferences that will bring together leaders, scientists, and prominent businesspeople to discuss important issues such as food security, sustainable development, and entrepreneurship in Africa.
This event seeks to bring African concerns to the attention of a global audience, as “UM6P takes this opportunity to represent the African perspective on issues that are critical to the continent’s development,” Baddou stated during the introductory speech.
Among the issues to be discussed throughout these five-day gatherings are “food security and sustainability,” “diaspora,” and “entrepreneurship.”
“The Voice of Africa” program also features days with a particular theme that are devoted to the African diaspora as well as the cultural and creative industries.
These activities are accessible to the general public at large as well as attendees of the World Bank and IMF Annual Meeting.

As part of the same event, UM6P will open its Solutions Village to attendees. The Solutions Village is a showcase of the latest technological advancements that have a significant impact on African agriculture.

The debates during “The Voice of Africa” are intended to put African issues on the agenda of international negotiations at the World Bank Group and IMF Annual Meetings, which will be held in Marrakech from October 9 to October 13.
Participating in these debates are prominent figures such as Rattan Lal, a World Food Prize and Nobel Peace Prize winner renowned for his work on soil and food security.
Other attendees include Jacques Attali, a well-known economist and author; Daniel Nahon, an expert on soil; and Alpha Barry, a CEO of Atos Afrique.
