Rabat – Defending champions AS FAR will face South Africa’s champions of the 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns, on October 15 in the semi-finals of the tournament currently being held in Côte d’Ivoire from November 5 to 19.
After losing 2-1 to Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa in their first group match on November 6, AS FAR bounced back with two straight wins to reach the last four.
The Moroccan team won their second match against their Equatoguinean counterparts Huracanes by 1-0 on November 9.
Sealing a spot in the semi-finals, the AS FAR squad overcame AS Mande 2-0 on November 12 at San Pedro stadium.
AS FAR is now placed second in their Group B standings with 6 points, ahead of Mande (4 points) and Huracanes (1 point).
Unlucky finalists in 2022 in Morocco, this version still offers South Africa a chance to get their revenge.
In all three editions of the Women’s Champions League in which they have taken part, Sundowns have always qualified for the last four.

However, AS FAR, who are looking to replicate the success of the previous edition, will need to rebuild if they are to stop this furious Mamelodi Sundowns side.

The team made its way to the semi-finals with one win against JKT Queens (4-1), one draw against Atletico Abidjan (1-1), and one loss against Sundowns (0-1).
Sporting Club Casablanca finished second in Group A with 4 points and will see the semi-finals for the first time in their history against Ampem Darkoa on November 15.
