Rabat – Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi is taking part in the 49th annual meeting of the Higher Council of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), taking place in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh.
Hammouchi is participating as a member of the recently established Higher Council of NAUSS.
The Higher Council is the highest-ranking executive body in NAUSS, tasked with defining the institution’s overarching policies, and identifying its primary scientific, administrative, and financial focus points.
Abdulaziz bin Saoud bin Naif, Saudi Arabia’s current Minister of Interior and Chairman of the NAUSS Board of Governors, is presiding over this year’s annual meeting.
Additionally, the Moroccan official is set to be present at a NAUSS graduation ceremony, awarding Arab and international security executives who have completed their graduate studies at the university.
Earlier this week, Hammouchi met with top ranking officials from Belgium including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt, as well as the acting Director General of Security Francisca Bostyn.
According to a statement issued from the DGSN on November 2, the talks centered on evaluating security-related aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries “to ensure the effective response to the increasing challenges and threats related to the terrorist danger and transnational organized crime that crosses national borders.”
