Rabat – Morocco has renewed its profound dismay and concerns over the ongoing, murderous Israeli campaign, denouncing the international community’s indifference to the suffering and killing of Palestinians.
In a statement released today, Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs took issue with the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s constant bombardment of places of worship, hospitals, and refugee camps – including the Jabalia refugee camp, which Israel struck two days in a row.
“The launching of rockets and shells on civilian structures in a random manner has increased, forcing over a million people to evacuate. The population has been deprived of water, electricity, and fuel, leading to a catastrophic humanitarian situation,” the statement said.
In response to the ongoing Israeli aggression, the Moroccan ministry emphasized that the Israeli escalatory action contradicted international humanitarian law and shared human values.
“They portend the expansion of conflict within Palestinian territories and the dangerous spread of violence into neighboring regions, threatening the overall security and stability of the region,” the statement added, deploring the international community’s inaction and the Security Council’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities.
Morocco also condemned the “ineffectiveness of influential countries” in putting an end to the devastating situation in Gaza.
The statement renewed Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian authority, calling for de-escalation that would lead to a ceasefire.
The Moroccan government also called for facilitating humanitarian access without obstacles, as well as the release of prisoners and detainees.
Israel’s murderous campaign in Gaza has killed nearly 8,800 people, including more than 3,600 children, in nearly a month since October 7.
Despite ceasefire or “humanitarian pause” appeals from the UN, NGOs, right groups, and millions of protesters across the world, Israel has continued to target civilians by shelling refugee camps, hospitals, and residential areas.

The dire situation has caused frustration and anger among many, including a growing list of countries that have recalled their ambassadors to protest against Israel’s rejection of a ceasefire.
Jordan, Chile, Colombia have all recalled their envoys to Tel Aviv, while Bolivia has announced severing ties with Israel over the Israeli massacres in Gaza.
