Rabat – Morocco’s Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz in the Palais des Hotes on Monday.
The Saudi envoy, a member of the Kingdom’s Council of Ministers, carried a verbal message from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for Morocco’s King Mohammed VI.
This high-level exchange marks a notable step in recent months, as Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan has increasingly stepped into the public eye. Stepping out from his customary private role, he has represented Morocco at international events, presided over prestigious ceremonies, and even interacted with youth initiatives.
Morocco and Saudi Arabia have been developing their ties over the years with focus on various fields.
With bilateral trade exceeding $1.7 billion, Morocco and Saudi Arabia have forged robust partnerships in sectors like trade, investment, and energy.
The two countries have also worked on strengthening their security cooperation to combat various threats including extremism and terrorism.
Both countries are key players in major security initiatives like the “African Lion” military exercises, which bolster regional stability and counter threats in the Sahel and the Middle East.
The Saudi-Moroccan relationship extends beyond economic and security interests, with cultural and religious ties binding the two nations.
