Rabat – The Philippines’ Ambassador to Morocco, Leslie J. Baja, stressed the pivotal role of youth in fortifying the bonds between countries on the sidelines of the first day of the Rabat Networking Days (RND).

Organized by Morocco World News (MWN) in collaboration with Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), the RND served as a platform to connect employers and students, fostering collaboration and understanding between diverse entities.

Baja, representing the Philippines’ embassy, expressed his pleasure at being part of the event.

With 2025 marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Morocco, Baja said that the event plays a vital role in solidifying the existing strong ties between the two countries.

Speaking about the potential of the younger generation, Baja stated: “Youth are a formidable force in enhancing relations between nations.”

“We warmly embrace this interaction between the embassy and the students of Al Akhawayn University,” Baja, who has previously visited the university, said.

Baja explained the embassy’s proactive agenda of establishing robust connections between Philippine and Moroccan universities. “Through these linkages, we aim to bridge the gap and foster a stronger relationship between our two nations,” he remarked during his presentation at the event.

The two-day initiative aims to connect academia with industry, offering 34 Moroccan students a unique opportunity to drive into Rabat’s competitive professional landscape.

Unlike traditional career events, RND promised more than a mere exchange of business cards. The event invited young talents to explore esteemed organizations, fostering connections capable of reshaping their career trajectories.

The inaugural event marked the beginning of an ongoing series, with a follow-up scheduled for January 12-13, 2024.

Initiated to bridge the gap between talent and industry needs, the RND seeks to be a catalyst for positive change, creating impactful career opportunities. It provided direct access to organizations and emphasized internships, community engagement, and strategic networking.

On the event’s second day, participants were given the chance to gain insight into diverse sectors, visiting the International Republican Institute, the Maroc Telecom Museum, and the Tamkin Foundation.

Engaging in interactive sessions, attendees had the unique opportunity to glean firsthand experiences from professionals representing these dynamic sectors.

What sets Rabat Networking Days apart from conventional events is its unwavering emphasis on active career development. Beyond passive networking, the event prioritizes shaping careers through hands-on experiences like internships, community engagement initiatives, and strategic networking efforts.
