Rabat – Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on Saturday canceling to and from Paris-Orly airport citing traffic controllers’ strikes.

“Due to the air traffic controllers’ strike notice on December 18 in France, we are forced to cancel flights to and from Paris-Orly airport,” RAM said in a post on its official X page.

Annonce importante

In the same thread, RAM invited customers to refrain from going to airports and call instead to reschedule their flights.

“We invite our customers whose flights have been canceled not to show up at the airport and to contact their original point of sale or the RAM call center to benefit from the arrangements notified in the link above,” the post reads.

Flights from and to France are expected to be heavily disrupted because of the traffic controllers’ strikes slated for Monday.

The strike is set to affect multiple airports, especially those managed by the CRNA Nord tower, responsible for overseeing airspace in northern France.

Airports affected by the strike include Paris-Orly, Lyon, Lille, Brest, Rouen, Poitiers, and Saint-Yan.

The strike is caused by widespread opposition to new regulations requiring a 48-hour notice period before participating in strike actions. The law has sparked discontent among air traffic controllers, who consider it as a violation of their right to strike without guarantees of ensuring a minimum number of flights during strike hours.
