Rabat – Renowned Moroccan singer Latifa Raafat has taken to social media to address a wave of accusations and insults directed at her concerning the ongoing “Desert Escobar” case involving drug trafficking.
In an Instagram post, Raafat shared screenshots of social media users, pages, and YouTube channels accusing her of being complicit in the drug trafficking case and suggested she knew about her ex-husband’s involvement.
Some went further to label her a gold digger, implying financial motivations behind her marriage to the “Desert Escobar” El Hadj Ahmed Ben Ibrahim, who is a Malian national.
In response, Raafat stressed her commitment to defending her reputation through legal means. She said that some individuals apologized for their accusations while others questioned the deletion of their pages or channels.
Emphasizing her rights as a Moroccan citizen, Raafat asserted her intention to defend herself legally and highlighted that only the Moroccan justice system has the authority to pursue her in connection to the case.
She vowed not to forgive anyone crossing legal boundaries or attempting to tarnish her reputation.
Raafat added that involved suspects themselves have testified that the Moroccan singer is not in any way connected to the case.

In addition, she responded to an incident regarding her ex-husband’s hosting his accomplices in the drug trafficking operations at her villa. She explained that the drug lord was her husband at the time, giving him the legal right to host guests in her absence.
The artist also emphasized her legal position as a witness in the ongoing case, not as an accused party. “I am a witness in this case, and legally, a witness does not await exoneration because, by law, they are not accused,” she explained.
She went on to express gratitude for security and the rule of law in the country, as well as thanking the cybersecurity authorities for their role in maintaining order in digital spaces.
The singer’s response comes in the wake of a previous statement where she defended herself against accusations of complicity in the case and rumors she had attempted to flee the country.
