Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, alongside President of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) Hicham El Habti conducted a comprehensive field visit to the UM6P headquarters in Sala El Jadida.
Their focus was to assess a training session on the support mechanism for public educational institutions and school districts.
This training session is a key component of the partnership established among the ministry, UM6P, and the OCP Foundation.
The overarching goal of this collaboration is to implement the educational system reform and the 2022-2026 roadmap, particularly the procedural framework for 2023 and 2024.
The emphasis is placed on strengthening the commitment of stakeholders in the education sector and public school partners, with a specific focus on establishing a support mechanism for actors within educational institutions and school districts.
The training aims to equip coordinators with the necessary tools to assist administrative and teaching staff in fulfilling their responsibilities within educational institutions. This includes tasks related to the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of integrated school projects.
Furthermore, the training seeks to address constraints and challenges hindering public educational institutions from fulfilling their roles optimally and engaging positively with their local environments.
According to official statements, the support mechanism intends to foster collective reflection and collaboration within school districts, promoting a sense of shared responsibility.
It also explores innovative approaches and tools to revamp professional practices, enhance communication and coordination while building trust and motivation within educational institutions and school districts.
Developed through a participative approach led by the Africa Business School under UM6P, in collaboration with ministry officials at various levels and school directors, the mechanism places significant importance on key components of the education system: the student, the teacher, and the school.
At the local level, the mechanism’s implementation will be complemented by oversight and assessment at the provincial, regional, and central levels through dedicated commissions tasked with steering and monitoring the process.
Established in 2016, UM6P’s Africa Business School (ABS) serves as a leading institution for higher education in business and management, with a focus on research and innovation to enhance the skills of future leaders across the African continent.
This mechanism aligns with the vision and values of the Africa Business School, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to mobilize educational stakeholders through strategic partnerships in service of Morocco’s educational reform.
