Moroccan Private Incubator EBF Backs 800 Innovative Projects

Rabat – Marrakech-Safi-focused, private incubator Emerging Business Factory (EBF) has supported more than 1500 entrepreneurs and funded nearly 800 innovative projects between 2021 and 2023.

According to a performance report, the private incubator boasted a remarkable women inclusivity rate, with 30% of incubated projects spearheaded by women.

In a statement, EBS says that it has been at the forefront of driving economic and social development in Marrakech-Safi.

Over the past three years, the organization partnered with key entities such as the Wilaya of the Marrakech-Safi Region, international groups like UNDP and GIZ, and Cadi Ayyad University, to achieve its mission statement.

The company mentioned in the statement that its involvement with INDH projects in Marrakech and Kelaa Sraghna, the Entrepreneurship Caravan, and the Demo Day for Investors have significantly contributed to boosting the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Regarding green and sustainable innovation, EBF launched the Green Youth Climate Innovation Incubator (GYCII) in late 2023, a program for the creation of green projects.

In December 2023, EBF entered a partnership with the US Department of State, the Near East Foundation, the Elsa & Peter Soderberg Charitable Foundation, and Islamic Relief USA to host the inaugural Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE) Hub.

The hub is a maketspace aiming to support climate-focused entrepreneurs and accelerate the deployment of low-carbon solutions across the MENA region.

In addition, the company’s Emerging People Event organized by EBF became a “major networking platform,” that offers aspiring young entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet industry leaders.

EBF is equally engaged in training young entrepreneurs and equipping them with essential tools and skills to develop their business models.

On the digitization front, EBF has introduced Digital Transformation Kiosks (KTD), an event that brings together companies seeking to digitize with experts in the field.

The company’s statement includes a roadmap for the expansion of operations. They claim this roadmap “aligns EBF’s ambitions with the evolving needs of the sector.”

EBF is co-founded by Taoufik Aboudia, who is currently the company’s CEO. Aboudia has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and founded and led several successful companies in the digital and technology industries.
