Rabat – Morocco has, once again, secured its position as one of the top seven African countries to visit in 2024, according to a prestigious ranking by LifeStyle Capital.

This recognition comes amidst a rich array of travel experiences offered by the continent, from the majestic wildlife of Kenya to the historical allure of Morocco’s ancient medinas.

Life Style Capital’s curated list showcases Morocco alongside Rwanda, Ghana, South Africa, Namibia, and Tanzania as must-visit destinations for discerning travelers.

The publication not only lists these destinations but also provides an insider’s guide, recommending activities such as exploring ancient medinas, camel trekking, and indulging in the flavors of traditional Moroccan cuisine.

Despite the challenges posed by the earthquake that struck Morocco in September, international solidarity prevailed as tourists continued to flock to Marrakech and the Al Houz quake-affected area. This resilience has further elevated Morocco’s status on the global tourism stage.

On Africa Day 2023, UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili emphasized the vastness and diversity of the continent, portraying it as a dynamic hub of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Pololikashvili emphasized Africa’s emergence as a key player in the global tourism landscape, celebrating its vibrant cities and rich tapestry of cultures.

He emphasized the transformative power of the tourism sector, recognizing it not just as a journey but as a lifeline with the potential to drive significant socio-economic progress.

CNN, in its recent feature on the “Travel” segment, has also highlighted Morocco among the top 24 must-visit destinations for 2024.

Recognizing the nation’s rebound from a devastating earthquake, CNN describes Morocco as a long-time favorite among travelers, lauding its diverse landscapes and spectacular architecture.

“Morocco is proving to be a world leader when it comes to sustainable tourism, with the launch of various initiatives to boost its renewable energy generation,” said CNN.

Adding to the accolades, Essaouira, renowned for its wit and charm, earned its place on Travel Lemming’s list of the “50 Top Travel Destinations for 2024,” solidifying its status as an unmissable location.

Positioned at the 28th spot among global destinations, Essaouira showcases Morocco’s coastal treasures, drawing attention from travel enthusiasts and experts alike.

The surge in Morocco’s popularity as a tourist destination is evident in the statistics, with the country attracting an impressive 13.2 million tourists as of November 2023.

Furthermore, the tourism sector experienced a noteworthy boost in revenues, jumping from MAD 84.12 billion in November 2022 ($8.5 billion) to MAD 97.4 billion in November 2023.

What sets Morocco apart is its remarkable ability to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity, creating a captivating experience for global travelers.

The nation’s commitment to sustainable tourism adds an extra layer of appeal, positioning Morocco as a compelling destination for those seeking an immersive and authentic travel experience in 2024.
