Rabat – As Round 3 of the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off today, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria will play a game that will determine who will advance further in the competition.
Today’s game will start at 6 p.m. Moroccan time and will be played at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
UK’s Sky Sports Football channel will broadcast the match live, while the Sky Go application will stream it for its subscribers.
Taking into account the results of the two teams, Nigeria has more chances to qualify for the round of 16 as it has recorded a draw against Equatorial Guinea 1-1 and a win over the host Cote d’Ivoire 1-0, thus earning 4 points.
Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissau comes from two losses to Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea, and sits at the bottom of Group A standings with 0 points.
The third group stage matches of tournaments like AFCON determine whether or not a team qualifies for the knock-out stage.
The schedule for this round will exempt players from afternoon matches, when the scorching weather in Cote d’Ivoire impacts performance on the field. The rest of AFCON games will, therefore, be played in the evenings.
