Rabat – The Jordan national team aims to continue making history in the ongoing Asian Football Cup (AFC) taking place in Qatar.
Jordan will face South Korea in the semi-finals scheduled for Tuesday at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. Fans eager to watch the game from home can go to Yahoo Sports for live streaming and updates.
In a pre-match press conference, Moroccan coach Hussein Amotta said that the team’s initial goal was to reach the quarterfinals, but they are not setting their sights higher.
“As the team progresses in each stage, players gain more confidence, and synergy becomes more evident within the group. We aspire for more,” he said.
The coach emphasized that his team will assess if reaching the final is possible. “We must focus on each step we take, learn from mistakes, and fully prepare all players. We have the determination and perseverance to continue on the right path,” he added.
Advancing to the knockout stage as one of the top four third-placed teams from the group stage, Jordan amassed four points with a triumph over Malaysia (4-0), a draw against South Korea (2-2), and a loss to Bahrain (1-0).
In the Round of 16, they secured a nail-biting 3-2 triumph over Iraq in the closing minutes of the game.
After a closely contested win against Tajikistan, Jordan has now marked a significant achievement by advancing to the semi-finals for the first time. However, the team is not satisfied with just reaching this stage and determined to build on this success.
