Rabat – Moroccan legendary actor Mohamed Benabdellah El Joundi passed away on Tuesday night after a prolonged battle with illness.
The actor is known for his exceptional contributions to Moroccan theater, cinema, and television. His work has reshaped the cultural landscape of the country for over four decades.
Raised in a distinguished family of artists in Morocco, Mohamed Benabdellah El Joundi was revered as one of the most eminent figures in Moroccan art.

Born into an illustrious artistic lineage, Mohamed Benabdellah El Joundi’s passing marks the end of an era for Moroccan art.
The news of El Joundi’s passing has deeply saddened the Moroccan artistic community, as tributes pour in from colleagues, fans, and admirers.
His loss is felt not only in Morocco but also across the broader Arab artists sphere, where his impact has been truly profound.
Mourning his death, Moroccan actress Latefa Ahrrare wrote in a post on social media; “May God have mercy on Professor Ben Abdullah Al-Jundi…The man who discovered me and introduced me for the first time to the Moroccan audience…”
“Thank you, my dear professor. Thank you for your writings for radio and television… Thank you for your creativity… God rest your soul,” Ahrrare’s post reads.
She concluded her post by offering her condolences to his family and his audience.
Fans have also taken to social media to mourn the death of the Moroccan actor. “Marrakesh loses one of its noble sons,” an X, formerly Twitter, user wrote
“Marrakesh artist Ben Abdullah El Gendi leaves us for his eternal abode. To Him (God) we belong and to Him (God) we shall return,” the post reads.
