Rabat – Spanish-Tunisian actress Hiba Abouk recently spoke again about her separation from Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi, acknowledging that the situation resulted in her living “the worst year of her life.”

In an interview with AS news outlet, the actress also hinted about alleged betrayal, saying that “disloyalty” kills love.

In March last year, Abouk confirmed her separation from the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Abouk said on Instagram that she and her husband no longer live together, as the separated couple awaits divorce proceedings.

“The reality is that a while ago, after a lot of reflection, the father of my children and I decided to end our relationship, long before the recent media events that have involved me, which are totally external,” the Spanish-Tunisian actress said.

In her recent interview with AS, Abouk said she did not want her separation with Hakimi to be publicized.

“But it was. There were very tough times… It was a very difficult decision for me because I left everything for my family. I left my husband, went back to my career, went back to Madrid, and I’m coming back to live,” she said.

The actress continued that she is now prioritizing her career as well as her children.

Abouk has two children with Hakimi, a football star playing for both Morocco and PSG.

Last year, Abouk faced criticism from Hakimi’s fans, who accused her of lack of support for her ex-husband.

Hakimi has been embroiled in an alleged rape case last year after French prosecutors announced that the Moroccan international is facing alleged rape charges after a 24-year-old accused the player of raping her in his house while his wife and two sons were away on holiday.

While many reports suggested that Abouk decided to separate from her husband following the rape accusations, the actress’ statement insinuates that the couple has made the decision long before the incident.
