Rabat – King Mohammed VI extended today his congratulations to Nizar Baraka on his re-election as Secretary-General of the Al Istiqlal Party.
In his congratulatory message, the monarch conveyed his best wishes to Baraka for continued success in his party duties aiming to fulfill the political aspirations of the party’s constituency and reinforce its standing in the Moroccan political scene.
The King concluded his message with a request to Baraka to convey his utmost appreciation to all members of the party.
Baraka was re-elected as the Secretary General of the independence party on Sunday. He was unanimously re-elected during the first session of the party’s National Council.
Currently serving as Minister of Equipment and Water, he joined the Istiqlal Party in 1981 and was announced as the party’s secretary-general for a first term in 2017.
The politician holds a degree in econometrics from the Faculty of Law at Mohammed V Agdal University in 1985.
He also studied at Aix-Marseille University in France, where he earned a PhD in economics in 1992.
