Rabat – Mohammed V University (UM5) of Rabat and the Complutense University of Madrid inked a cooperation agreement today in Madrid. The agreement aims to bolster academic and scientific cooperation as well as cultural exchange.
Signed by Farid El Bacha, President of UM5 Rabat, and Joaquin Goyache Goni, Rector of the Complutense University of Madrid, the agreement focuses on advancing educational development, training, and scientific research.
The collaboration aims to facilitate joint activities, develop specific programs and projects, and foster the exchange of students, teachers, and executives to share teaching and management experiences.
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of signing the agreement, Joaquin Goyache Goni highlighted the potential of the partnership, emphasizing the opportunities for cooperation between the two universities.
On his part, Farid El Bacha echoed this sentiment, underlining the strategic importance of the collaboration in the context of a multidimensional partnership between the two nations, rooted in shared values and a mutual destiny.
The agreement aims to produce tangible outcomes for both institutions. Plans are in progress for a delegation from the Spanish university to soon visit Rabat and formalize specific agreements between faculties.
Prior to the recent collaboration between Rabat’s Mohammed V University and the Complutense University of Madrid, UM5 had already taken steps to strengthen its international ties.
In November 2023, the university signed another cooperation agreement with the University of Jaen in Spain.
The agreement covered cooperation on scientific research and education development as well as student exchange programs among other areas of cooperation.
