Rabat – France and Morocco have marked significant progress in implementing their shared “ambitious” roadmap, signaling a strengthening of their strategic partnership.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs highlighted this development, emphasizing the fruitful exchanges between French Minister Stéphane Séjourné and his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

During a press briefing, the Deputy Spokesperson highlighted the advancements across various areas outlined in the joint roadmap, including major future investments, security cooperation, cultural exchanges, and addressing global issues.

The recent visit of Stéphane Séjourné to Morocco in February further underlines the determination of French and Moroccan leaders, Emmanuel Macron and King Mohammed VI, to solidify their partnership.

Leveraging historical relations and accumulated achievements, this initiative aims to build a stronger foundation for future collaboration.

In a statement on social media, the French Foreign Minister emphasized the uniqueness of the relationship between France and Morocco, affirming the significance of their bond.

Looking ahead, five prominent members of the French government are scheduled to visit Morocco in April, signaling a diplomatic push to strengthen ties following a period of strained relations.

Led by figures such as Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin and Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, this delegation aims to reignite dialogue and cooperation.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the upcoming visits will address key areas of mutual interest, including economic, cultural, and political engagement.

The itinerary includes participation in events such as the International Agricultural Fair in Meknes, highlighting the importance of agricultural cooperation between the two nations.

Discussions during the visits will focus on bolstering trade ties, with France remaining Morocco’s largest investor and the kingdom serving as France’s primary trading partner in Africa.
