Rabat – Morocco’s Minister Delegate in Charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, visited Huawei’s stand at GITEX Africa 2024.
Guided by David Li, General Manager of Huawei Morocco, the visit highlighted Huawei’s latest technologies and its vision for Morocco and Africa’s digital future.
During her visit, Mezzour explored Huawei’s advancements in various fields such as education, connectivity, and the automotive industry.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among digital ecosystem stakeholders to achieve an inclusive and sustainable digital transformation, aligning with Morocco’s strategic objectives.
Huawei’s stand, a key feature at the exhibition, was divided into three sections: New Value, New Ecosystem, and New Infrastructure. Designed to offer visitors a comprehensive tour of the digital world, the stand showcased Huawei’s disruptive, futuristic, and sustainable solutions.
Conceived and brought to life by Huawei, the stand provided an insight into the group’s innovative approaches to transforming digital landscapes across various sectors.
According to a company statement, Mezzour’s visit was an invaluable opportunity to engage in productive discussions about digital advancements and to discover Huawei’s latest innovative technologies across various sectors.
Huawei’s strong presence at Africa’s premier tech and startup event included hosting a series of conferences and roundtables to promote its solutions and discuss the myriad challenges facing Africa’s digital transition and the adoption of new technologies, including AI.
One of the key events hosted by Huawei was the Data Storage Summit, which brought together industry leaders and partners from across Africa to discuss the latest advancements and strategies in data infrastructure for the AI era. Under the theme “Data Awakening: Building Leading AI-Ready Data Infrastructure,” the event provided a platform for the company to showcase its latest innovations. Christophe Grenier, CTO of Huawei Northern Africa Data Center, introduced several cutting-edge solutions designed to support AI-ready data infrastructure.
He unveiled Huawei’s latest 128 TB SSDs, which aim to enhance data storage capabilities and drive digital transformation across Africa. This innovation is set to address the increasing demands for data storage and processing in AI applications.
In addition, Huawei organized a roundtable where top executives engaged in insightful conversations with journalists, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities of digitalization on the continent.
The discussion delved into sector-specific digitalization efforts, highlighting the diverse applications of technology across industries. One of the central themes of the roundtable was the challenge of connectivity.
This theme was emphasized throughout the discussions, highlighting the necessity for robust digital infrastructure to support Africa’s growing technological landscape.
