Rabat – Hamas has proposed the establishment of an independent government to administer the Gaza Strip and the West Bank following the cessation of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) aggression.
According to a senior Hamas official, this government would be composed of non-partisan figures with national expertise.
Hossam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, revealed the proposal today, during indirect negotiations involving Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
These talks aim to halt the ongoing IOF merciless campaign in Gaza and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.
“We have proposed that a non-partisan government with national skills should run Gaza and the West Bank after the war,” Badran stated. He emphasized that the administration of Gaza post-conflict should be an internal Palestinian affair, free from external interference. “We will not discuss post-war Gaza with any foreign party,” he added.
This proposal comes at a time when the humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating rapidly. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported today that 32 Palestinians, including many women and children, were killed in IOF airstrikes in the past 24 hours.

The ministry noted that the victims were transferred to various hospitals across Gaza, though specific details on the locations were not provided.
Government sources reported over 70 airstrikes across several regions, including Gaza City, the Nousseirat refugee camp, Khan Younes, and Rafah.
The IOF confirmed continued aggression in Rafah, claiming significant “gains against terrorist elements and the dismantling of terrorist infrastructure”.
Meanwhile around 60 bodies were discovered under the rubble in Shujaia, an eastern district of Gaza City.
This followed an extensive IOF relentless campaign that left the area devastated. The local civil defense labeled the Shujaia neighborhood as a “disaster area,” stating that 85% of its houses, shops, markets, and infrastructure were either wholly or partially destroyed.
“The Shujaia neighborhood is no longer habitable because the occupation has destroyed all or part of 85% of the houses, shops, markets, and infrastructure,” a civil defense spokesperson declared.
They urged the inhabitants of Gaza City to evacuate the area, echoing the Israeli army’s call earlier in the week for some 300,000 to 350,000 people to leave.
