Marrakech – Garena just turned up the heat with the grand finale of “Free Fire: Battle of Morocco,” the most colossal offline gaming showdown Morocco has ever seen.

Held on Saturday, August 24, at the illustrious Salle Mohammed V in Casablanca, this event wasn’t just a milestone; it was a game-changer for Morocco’s esports scene.

Over 4,000 fired-up fans packed the arena to catch the showdown between 12 of Morocco’s top teams in a nail-biting series of four matches.

With the title of national Free Fire champion and a cool MAD 100,000o the line, the stakes were sky-high.

This event capped off a thrilling journey that began with more than 10,000 players in the qualifiers, proving that Morocco’s e-sport scene is brimming with extraordinary talent and unmissable drama.

After four intense rounds of battle royale, Wask, the recent Free Fire World Series (FFWS) MEA 2024 champs, proved they’re not just a one-hit wonder.

They topped the leaderboard at Battle of Morocco with a whopping 93 points; 56 from eliminations and 37 from placements, including two Booyahs.

Facing fierce competition from up-and-comers like Winner Esports, Fight Night, and Amateras, Wask clinched the crown with a 30,000 MAD (around 3100 USD) prize and earned the title of Morocco’s Free Fire royalty.

“Garena is thrilled to host Free Fire: Battle of Morocco. This inaugural official tournament in Morocco showcases our dedication to nurturing the Moroccan esports ecosystem,” stated Eldwin Pradipta, Free Fire MEA Producer at Garena in a press release.

He added that, “We were honored to welcome 12 of the country’s top teams, from pros to community squads, all vying for the champion title. Morocco is bursting with promising e-sports talent, and we’re convinced Moroccan players are destined to shine on the global stage.”

The 12 teams, a mix of seasoned pros and emerging community talent, battled fiercely to make it to the finals. Among them were standout squads like Impledown, which led its group during the playoffs, and newcomers Bolza, Helala 12, Hlwn Blitz, and Tyranids, each making their debut in the competitive arena.

In addition to the heart-pounding gameplay, spectators enjoyed a live performance by the acclaimed rapper Dada, which added a vibrant flair to the event’s atmosphere.

Fans also had the chance to win exceptional prizes like smartphones, headphones, and exclusive Free Fire merch, making the day unforgettable for everyone involved.

Garena remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing e-sport in Morocco and will keep championing events like Battle of Morocco.

By providing a stage for emerging players and teams, they’re ensuring that the next wave of e-sport stars can make their mark on the national scene.
