Rabat – At 34 years old, Moroccan defender Zouhair Feddal has announced his retirement from professional football.
Recently a free agent playing for FUS Rabat, Feddal made the announcement on his official X account yesterday. In a heartfelt post, he looked back on his career with a blend of pride and nostalgia, expressing gratitude to those who supported him from his early days through to his last match.
“From the first minute to the final whistle, it has been about honor, loyalty, and sacrifice,” he wrote. “Thank you for everything you’ve allowed me to experience. It wasn’t easy, but it was truly worth it.”

Reflecting on his diverse football career, Feddal looked back on his time with various clubs across different countries, gaining valuable perspectives along the way.
In his X post, he expressed his appreciation for the many teams he played for, including FUS Rabat, Parma, Siena, Palermo, Levante, Alaves, Real Betis, Sporting CP, Valladolid, and Alanyaspor. “Thank you so much! And a special thanks to all the clubs that supported me through challenging times,” he wrote.
He also shared how the game allowed him to meet incredible people, explore new cultures, and discover the world.
“Everything about this journey is pure passion! I’m eternally grateful to you, little leather ball! What began as a game became my life. Here’s to the next chapter being even better,” the post concluded.
Feddal is a Moroccan professional footballer known primarily as a central defender, though he has also played as a left-back and defensive midfielder.
Born in Tétouan, he began his football journey with Moghreb Tétouan before his family relocated to Spain when he was six.
He started his international youth career with FC Vilamalla and CF Peralada, and in 2006, he left Spain to join AS Monaco FC’s youth setup. However, he returned the following year to play for CE Mataró.
Feddal’s international career also includes representing Morocco at the under-23 level during the 2012 Summer Olympics. He made his full debut for the national team on November 14, 2012, in a friendly match against Togo, which ended in a 1–0 loss.
