Marrakech – This Saturday, Casablanca is about to transform into the epicenter of Moroccan e-sports.

The inaugural “Free Fire Battle of Morocco” is set to take over on August 24, according to a recent press release.

This competition gathers 12 top teams who will clash in a four-round royale for the title of Morocco’s first Free Fire champion and a cool 100,000 MAD (approximately 10,200 USD) prize.

Held at the Olympique Mohammed V Arena, this event promises an electrifying show that will make even your gaming console jealous.

In case you’re wondering how it all started, let’s rewind:

The journey to the grand finale kicked off with the Group Stage Qualifiers from August 5th to 9th, where over 10,000 players threw their hats into the ring.

After five days of high-stakes gaming, 20 teams emerged victorious, securing their spots in the finals.

On August 11, the 20 qualified teams faced their ultimate test in the playoffs, going head-to-head with Morocco’s elite teams: Wask, Fight Night, Winners Esports, and Top12 Esports.

Split into two groups, these teams battled fiercely, with the top six from each group earning their spot in the grand finale.

What’s truly exciting? Many of these teams weren’t seasoned pros, highlighting the “Battle of Morocco’s” commitment to spotlighting local talent and giving rising stars their moment to shine on the national stage.

The lineup of the 12 teams gunning for glory includes Impeldown, Wask, Hlwn Blitz, Tyranids, Fight Night, Bolza, Winners Esports, Amateras, Top12 Esports, Super Stars, Vald Maroc, and Helala 12.

Each team has clawed their way through fierce competition to reach this point, and now they’re ready to bring their A-game to the grand finale.

The scoop on the ‘creme de la creme’

Among the contenders, three community teams; Super Stars, Vald Maroc, and Impeldown, have caught the spotlight and the attention of fans and analysts.

These underdogs didn’t just make it to the finals; they’ve showcased a game level that could shake things up.

Impeldown, in particular, stole the show by topping their playoff group, even outpacing the reigning champs, Wask.

Joining the spotlight are four beginners; Bolza, Helala 12, Hlwn Blitz, and Tyranids, who fought their way from the open qualifiers to make their mark in the finals.

Their journey from obscurity to the big stage is a testament to the vibrant and boundless spirit of Moroccan e-sports.

While Wask, FIight Night, Amateras, Winners Esports, and Top12 Esports are the favorites heading into the finals, Free Fire’s unpredictable nature means “anything can happen.”

In this game, fans are the real MVPs!

As a fan,  not only will you get to groove to a live performance by rapper Dada, but there’s also a treasure trove of giveaways up for grabs.

This includes smartphones, headphones, and exclusive Free Fire goodies for the first 1,000 lucky attendees.

And let’s not forget the limited-edition products you could snag during pre-event games.

Cheers to Free Fire

According to the data.ai site, Free Fire reigned supreme as the most downloaded mobile game in the world from 2019 to 2021 and continued its dominance as the top mobile battle royale game in 2022 and 2023. It remains one of the most popular online games in Morocco.
