Rabat – Following their commanding 4-0 win over the United States today, Morocco will now face Spain in the semifinals of the men’s football tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Morocco showcased an impressive performance in their quarterfinal match, with Achraf Hakimi, Soufiane Rahimi, and Ilias Akhomach all contributing goals to seal a dominant win.
Substitute El Mehdi Maouhoub’s late penalty kick further emphasized Morocco’s strength and determination, ending the game with a 4-0 scoreline.
Meanwhile, Spain, the silver medalists from the Tokyo Olympics, advanced to the semifinals following a 3-0 victory over Japan.
La Roja won the game thanks to a double from Fermin Lopez and a late goal by Abel Ruiz. Lopez’s goals came in the 11th and 73rd minutes, while Ruiz added the finishing touch in the 86th.
The upcoming semifinal match between Morocco and Spain promises to be a thrilling encounter.
