Rabat – Morocco is taking center stage at the 2024 Americas Food and Beverage Show in Miami, a premier US trade event focused on agri-food products for the Florida, Caribbean, and Latin American markets.
As the guest of honor, the North African nation is using the platform to highlight its rich culinary heritage and expanding export capabilities.
The event, which runs until September 18, opened its doors on Monday. Morocco’s ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, emphasized the significance of Morocco’s participation.
“We are proud to once again showcase the excellence of our agri-food and fish products to an American market that increasingly appreciates our national products,” Amrani said during the opening ceremony.
Accompanied by the Kingdom’s Consul General in Miami, Chafika El Habti, and Morocco Foodex Managing Director Ghita El Ghorfi, Amrani noted that the show offers more than just a commercial platform.
“This is an opportunity to build long-term partnerships and exchange ideas, aligning with the vision of His Majesty the King for global collaboration,” he added.
The Moroccan pavilion, organized in collaboration with the World Trade Center Miami, attracted considerable attention.
Featuring a diverse selection of products, the pavilion drew praise from the over 7,500 professionals in attendance, reflecting Morocco’s growing prominence in the global food market.

Several US officials, including Senator Maria Elvira Salazar and Miami Dade Mayor Daniela Levine Cava, attended the event’s inauguration, recognizing Morocco’s critical role in international trade.
Speakers highlighted Miami’s position as a global trade hub and Morocco’s potential to strengthen ties between North American and African markets.
For Morocco, participation in the show is part of a broader strategy to deepen trade relations with the US, building on the Free Trade Agreement signed in 2004.
Bilateral trade has surged to $5 billion in 2023, with Moroccan exports tripling since the agreement’s inception.
With its growing US presence and strong bilateral ties, Morocco is positioning itself as a key player in food security and sustainable supply chains, serving as a gateway to African markets.
