Rabat – Moroccan international and Bayer Leverkusen player Amine Adli faces a lengthy absence from the pitch, as he will be sidelined until 2025 due to a serious injury sustained during Wednesday’s Champions League match against Stade Brestois.
The German club confirmed that Adli “fractured his left fibula” during the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Adli came on as a substitute in the second half of the match, spending only 18 minutes on the field before his injury. Despite the setback, he had been a vital part of the team, participating in all eleven official matches for Bayer Leverkusen since the start of the season.
“We will be without Amine Adli for the rest of this year. The attacker fractured his left fibula during last night’s draw against Brest and is not expected to be back until January 2025,” Bayer Leverkusen said in a statement on X.
The post concluded with an encouraging message: “Keep your head up, Amine; you’ll be back soon!”
The 24-year-old winger will begin his rehabilitation at the “Werkstatt,” Bayer Leverkusen’s dedicated training and rehabilitation center. The club’s current position of fourth in the Bundesliga standings adds to the impact of his absence.
